Fit for a King just dropped their 8th studio album, Lonely God. They have never been shy about their pain and turning it into something different. In this album we see the band pushing their sound from previous albums mixing atmospheric synths, brutal breakdowns, and confessional lyrics into a razor-sharp display of modern metalcore.
The album produced by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker), Lonely God was born out of complete creative freedom. The band wanted to create something raw, honest and heavy. The result? A collection of 12 songs that feel darker, deeper, and more unified than anything they’ve released before.
This record wasn’t made to comfort you, it was made to confront you. One of the album’s most standout tracks, “Technium” (featuring Landon Tewers of The Plot in You), dives headfirst into themes of digital decay and personal disconnection. Meanwhile, “Lonely God”—the raging title track—is a sobering reflection on ego, isolation, and the cost of power. It’s bold, mechanical, and arguably one of the most ambitious songs they’ve ever written.
While most of the album is heavy, the songs “Between Us” and “Shelter” gives listeners a breather, melodic and emotionally raw tracks that show versatility. Ryan KIrby’s clean vocals are as just as powerful as his screams, especially when paired with introspective lyrics about broken relationships and inner silence.
Lonely God is the album that has been in the works for years, its about honesty, fury and faith, in the middle of destruction.
For longtime fans, this is the evolution they’ve been waiting for. For newcomers, this is a brutal but brilliant entry point into one of metalcore’s most emotionally driven bands.
